Diamondhead Youth Athletic Association (Spartans)

It is the mission of the Diamondhead Spartans Youth Football and Cheerleading to provide a FUN introduction to football and cheerleading to the youth of Hancock County, Mississippi. Diamondhead Spartans Youth Football and Cheer provides an experience that enriches our youth’s lives by building character, creating life memories, life friendships, strong work ethics, strong social skills, teamwork, communication, discipline, and self-esteem. We strive to accomplish this mission by: 1. Leveraging our association with USA Football, football’s national governing body, to ensure that all coaches receive proper training in preventing football related injuries by teaching Heads Up Blocking, Heads Up Tackling, and recognizing the symptoms of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussions. 2. Introducing the concept of the student-athlete by providing an after school tutoring program and recognizing academic achievements through our Spartans and Scholars Program. 3. Holding centrally-located, organized practices and sponsoring an adult physical fitness program during practice times to increase convenience and promote a healthy work/family balance for parents. 4. Providing positive character development of the players and cheerleaders by participating in community service projects through our Spartans and Service Program. 5. Emphasizing overt sportsmanship. As a model youth organization in Hancock County, we are striving to become the standard in youth sports and citizenship. Our motto is: “It isn't the hours you put in, but what you put in the hours”
